Anxiety. interview with j. garcía campayo in aragón tv

The techniques explained in this work, are adjusted to the slopes and ravines that life presents us with. All psychotherapeutic techniques aim to make us adapt to the inevitable, to make us prefer this reality, sometimes hard, to a past that will not return, or to the fantasy of an impossible present, to which we stubbornly attach ourselves. Psychotherapies are bridges to cross rivers, faults, ravines or torrents, but always under the condition of establishing a previous pact between professional and patient. The problem-solving therapy has this very assumed, and is one of those therapies that show from the beginning its business card: this is what I can offer you, are you interested? do you want to cross the bridge, or do you prefer to stay on this shore? At this point, the health professional should take into account something very obvious but very important: by seeing the segment of humanity most eroded by the blows of fate, we can become infected by the patient’s own pessimism.

Conference by dr. garcía campayo – mindfulness

Yes, I studied at the University of Zaragoza, I love the city. I decided to study there and it was a very nice time. I had a girlfriend at the time and we hung out a lot with my friends. I got good grades. I remember the parties, the get-togethers, the study trips… I still have good friends from that time.
I did my thesis on “Clinical and epidemiological aspects of somatization phenomena in primary care”. It was an original topic at that time. My psychiatry teacher was Antonio Lobo, professor in Zaragoza, who was a pioneer, and thanks to him I was able to do the thesis and I am very grateful to him.
It was the first unit we did. As the thesis was about that there was a lot of demand and we did the unit at the Servet. We were treating patients who did very well. We were very happy with the result. Then in 2003, for administrative reasons and for the service itself, it had to be closed, but it was a very interesting experience.
– You coordinate the Mental Health Research Group of Aragon, whose lines of research are anxiety, depression, mindfulness, fibromyalgia and new technologies applied to the healthcare field. How do you see society today?
